If I complete a course, will I receive a certificate? 

There will be an option to purchase a certificate of completion once you complete the course. Fees apply. 

When I complete the course, will I automatically be eligible to purchase a certificate? 

All courses require a minimum score/grade to be able to purchase a certificate. Once the course is completed, and you have reached the minimum requirement, you will be able to purchase the certificate. Please see your course syllabus/homepage for more information. 

Will I receive University credit for completing a MOOCs course? 

University credit will not be awarded for the completion of any MOOCs course. 

How do I enroll in a MOOCs course? 

To enroll in a MOOCs course, please visit our MOOCs page, and find the course for you. You will be able to enroll on the page for each specific course.

How can I suggest a new course?

If we do not offer a certain course, you can suggest a new one by filling out the form above.

I’m having technical issues with my course. Where do I go for technical support?

I am an FIU faculty member and am interested in teaching a MOOCs course. Who should I contact?

I enrolled for a course, but it hasn’t started yet and I cannot view the course content. What do I do now? 

  • If you enrolled in a MOOC after 7/27/15, using Open Education, you will get access to the course content right away.

Is there a fee for taking any of the MOOCs courses?

All the MOOCs courses offered through FIU Online are completely free. An optional certificate of completion is available for purchase. 

When is the deadline to enroll for courses?

All MOOCs courses offered through FIU Online have open enrollment within a given time period and are offered multiple times throughout the year. 

How long will it take for me to complete a course?

All MOOCs courses offered through FIU Online are self-paced and on average, take about eight hours to complete. 

How long would it take for me to receive my certificate? 

Please allow 3-5 business days so that we may review your course performance and communicate with you in regard to your certificate. 

How would I receive the certificate? Do I receive a confirmation e-mail? 

Once we issue the certificate, you will receive an e-mail letting you know the certificate is available for you to download and/or print.
